I've taken the last few weeks off from blogging to do a hard reset.
What does that mean?
I've taken a break from planning, expanding my business, and blogging. What have I done instead?
I've taken long walks, practiced mindfulness meditation, and took a very long vacation.
I'm very organized. I keep lists and a pretty tight calendar. On this most recent trip, I vacationed with my dearest friend, who loves to zigzag. We didn't have an itinerary or a schedule, but simply followed our whims. We collected shark teeth on one beach, visited a bird sanctuary on another, saw manatees, sharks, and dolphins, chased anoles, collected wild mangoes, papayas, and coconuts. Was it a blast? YES. Was it difficult for me at times? YES. But I look at it like stretching a rubber band...the more you stretch it, the more flexible it becomes.
As my vacation was ending, I started to look forward to returning to my comfort zone, and sharing all my adventures with my family. I was refreshed, and had a newfound desire to loosen my schedule a bit.
Sometimes we get into habits that are comfortable for us, but aren't healthy. I see that when I come into someone's house as an organizer. Our comfort doesn't always serve us well. It takes a bit of bravery and stretching to make changes, and I always take that into consideration when working with a client. A fresh view can make a big difference.
