Here are a few important things for you to know about Professional Organizers, and NEST Home LLC.
1. We do NOT judge.
Professional Organizers are about PEOPLE, not STUFF. We do what we do because we love making a difference in people's lives by helping them manage their belongings. When I enter a house, I very often hear, "Oh my gosh, I am SO embarrassed, this is SO messy, and I have SO much stuff." I honestly don't even notice. I am there to listen to a client, help them determine a course of action, and find solutions. I value the people I work with, not their stuff.
2. We do NOT want you to get rid of all of your things.
Homes are our place to land. They are filled with things that are functional, that we need, or that make us or our loved ones happy. I'm not interested in turning anybody into a minimalist (unless that is your thing). I value treasures and memories as much as the next person. Our job is to help you live comfortably and effectively in a way that is right for you, and not overwhelming.
3. We do NOT want you to purchase a lot of storage containers.
I have worked with a number of clients who have thought an easy (but often expensive) solution to some of their organizational issues will be fixed by buying storage containers. Sure, that may be PART of the solution, but as organizers we see beyond THINGS. Our role is to get to know our clients, their values, their lifestyle, and their priorities, and find a fit that works for THEM. This takes time, trust, and faith. Hold off on making those big purchases of tupperware and storage bins, and call a professional organizer, instead.
